A Great Quake

Hooray for 4/23/08!

Great Scott, as Doc would say, I need to start going to bed earlier, but I can't seem to do it any more. Well, here iz some NEW(dz) drawings. I love calling my photoshop work drawings. I think they are because I use my pen and tablet to do everything. I said "Cya, mouse," to my mouse a while ago.
Also, I'm doing a speech on E-waste in a few hours, so remember to RECYCLE those TVs, CPUs, laptops, iPods, DVDs, VCRs, batteries, cell phones, blackberries, iPhones, etc. properly. Google search 'e-waste' and find out what you can do, and what might happen to our water, and surroundings if we don't do anything about this issue.

Watermelon, Ahoy!

Yargh, I thought it'd be fun to just use the lasso tool, and fill in the selected areas with solid colors (shift-f5). And since I wanted to have fun, I did exactly that. I haven't had watermelon in a while, and I thought it woulda been funny to see a watermelon in water. Really original.

Royal High School Media Guide 2008

These are some samples of the work that I recently finished for the 2008 Royal Baseball Media Guide. It's nothing fancy but this is the first 'real' Photoshop project I have done for somebody. This is also the first 'real' Photoshop project that I'm getting paid for, so this has inspired me to keep progressing and getting new clients, jobs, etc.

Vote Sara Yakhi

A 8.5' X 11" poster I did as a favor for Sara 'Mint' Yakhi. I think it's really interesting, now, to see how something as simple as a line under text, or a check mark can make look so different. I did this little thing as a favor for Sara last night while I was watching South Park. This morning though was awesome because I rolled out of bed to kill the morning alarm on my phone and noticed I had a text from Sara, " I already got a client who wants an ad and will pay you for it." That made this day awesome.

Matt Furie

Matt 'Furry' Furie. I just found him while looking for different RVCA artists. The fine details in his drawings are just phenomenal. Matt was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1979. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. He currently lives in San Francisco.

Early Bird Special

So when I get tired of working on a serious project, I start doodling, and so i sketched this up in Photoshop when I was talking with Jenn. I really like this, and think I am going to start moving more toward this style for the next couple weeks. I should get going on a portfolio, or trying to find a summer intern somewhere good. I don't know, any ideas for the intern, next drawing, etc.
Lakers came from behind and beat Dirk and the rest of the Mavericks. Oh man, my dad and I were yelling, cheering, mad, up, and down. I totally smashed my knee on the coffee table in the livingroom while I was heading back to the couch after jumping from my seat. As I look at it now, there is a little cut where the metal latch I hit, took skin off. Sweet, good night.

Dani Fine's Nature Show

I'm going to go, and I think everybody else should. I put this up because I downloaded the font the other day, and I like the design of it. So, now you know the date, time, and location, so go. Plus, there will be a Slip-n-Slide!

Los Campesinos!

So this is Los Campesinos! I just found them the other day when I was checking a SPIN magazine. They're English, and they're rad. It has some cool violin in the back of some songs, it's pretty mellow, but has it's buildups. They remind me of Islands, and Be Your Own Pet. The reason being because they have a girl singing in it too. I say download it, or buy it. I really like the album artwork the most though.
